The photo eye trips each time I try to close the door. They are lined up correctly so I don't know what else to check. Is there a way to disconnect these?

What do you mean that they trip? Do you mean that the opener reverses when you try & close the door? If so, how far does the door go closed before it reverses?

You may want to check & make sure the sun isn't shining on the sensors. If it is then the opener will reverse because the sun is "blinding" the sensors & giving it false readings.

If you can give me a little more info I may be able to better answer your question.

Yes, the opener reverses when I attempt to close the door. Most of the time door won't start down at all but it has made it halfway down or farther before reversing. The error code on the lift reports that the photo eye became obstructed. One sensor has a green light and the other has a red light. I've noticed that the red light isn't always lit on the sensor.

Some of the older style of sensors can be very sensitive. The smallest vibration can cause them to become misaligned causing the opener to reverse. I would recommend realigning the sensors & brackets. Sometimes if you just bend one of the sensor brackets slightly the sensors will stay in alignment. If that doesn't work then you should probably replace the sensors.

If you have to garage doors/openers side by side then you may be experiencing cross talking. Let me know if that's the case & I'll tell you how to resolve it.

Thanks. I'll try to realign again and see if it resolves the issue. I have three garage doors side by side so "cross talking" could be a possibility. One door works fine but I have issues with the other two. Is there a way to disconnect the sensor and still have the opener operate?

No, the sensors need to be operable for the operator to work.

If you do have doors side by side with the same openers then cross talking could be an issue. Make sure you have the "sender" sensors & "receiver" sensors alternate. For example:
Door #1: sender on left side / receiver on right side
Door #2: receiver on left side / sender on right side

This should eliminate any cross talking.

    Hope this helps.
