Thermaglide roller garage door Empty Thermaglide roller garage door

    Hi all,

I have a Thermaglide roller type garage door. It suddenly developed a problem in that regardless of whether the up or down button is pressed on either the remote or the control unit the door will only travel down. I’ve checked the wiring in the control unit and can confirm that when the up button is pressed the live passes 240volts correctly, likewise the same for the down button, the motor just goes in one direction. I’ve tried resetting the limits in the hope that this works. Would I be right in assuming that the problem is motor related? Is it worth me examining the motor assembly or is it likely I need to order a replacement motor?

If you need any further information please do not hesitate to ask.

    Many thanks in advance.

That's odd. If you pull the emergency release on the operator how does the door work manually? Is it hard to lift?
