Can you use .207 X 1-3/4" X 22" to replace .207 X 1-3/4" X 23" tension springs?
Tension or extension springs are designed to become longer under load. Their turns (loops) are normally touching in the unloaded position, and they have a hook, eye or some other means of attachment at each end.GDZone wrote:You could. 1" isn't going to make that big of a difference. It's optimal to use the exact spring length but 1" shouldn't hurt. Since it's a little shorter it may be a little "hot" off the floor (wants to open a little faster) and "dead" in the head (door may want to drift closed a little). You also may lose a little cycle life - it may drop it from 10k cycles to 9k cycles.
That being said you should be fine.
