The R150 openers don't have a built in radio receiver with a learn button like the newer openers of today. Most likely there's a separate radio receiver mounted to the back of the powerhead. Your radio receiver may have a learn button but it will depend on what the make and model of it is.

Raynor R 150-7 Empty Where do I find the dip switches on raynor 150-7

    Post  rm92269 Tue Jun 28, 2011 8:24 pm

I'm trying to program a universal remote but I can't find the dip switches on the Raynor 150-7 1992 garage door opener. I've looked all over the body but don't know where to look. If I can't get to the switches how can I get a compatible remote?

"Universal" remotes don't always work the way they claim. Your best bet is to purchase a remote made by the manufacturer of the opener or receiver.

Your operator (R-150) didn't come with a built in radio receiver....it was added at the time of installation (most likely). I say most likely because it is possible a radio receiver was never added (or possibly removed). Did you ever have a working remote for the opener? If you did then that answers the first question...you have a radio receiver.

The second question is where is the radio receiver? MOST of the time it is mounted on the back of the powerhead (motor) unit up on the ceiling. But it is possible that it could be mounted to the ceiling or the wall. Once you locate the receiver and find out what make and model it is you'll know if the universal remote will work.
