garage - Garage Door Spring Empty Garage Door Spring

Post  tresselk Fri Feb 28, 2020 5:54 pm

I recently had my garage door opener fixed. At the same time, the fix it company adjusted my garage door springs. Shortly after, one garage door spring broke. in looking at the spring, the end of the spring had been wedged open by a bolt (see picture, i have a hard time explaining). I am trying to determine if this is something that can happen naturally when the spring breaks, or if this wedged end more likely happened due to the spring being overtightened. Any thoughts or ideas?

    Thanks.
