    Damaged door Empty Damaged door

Post  Dsmhomeowner Tue Jan 12, 2021 9:30 pm

I have a 16 foot wide metal garage door that I recently
noticed what looks like damage from something
pushing inwards causing vertical creases from the
corner of one panel up to the corner of the panel above. This damage is about 1 panel in from the
left side of the door. I thought that it may have
been caused by the snow removal guys pushing
snow into the door while plowing my drive during
the recent big snow. I had the HOA guys look at it
and while looking at it, I noticed that the door has some issues on the other end. The 3 1/2 feet of
the bottom panel is bowed out about 1/4 of an
inch. I think this may have been caused about
3 years ago when the door was lowered onto the
edge of my truck’s bumper. I never noticed this
    damage until now.
My question is - could the damage to the door 3
years ago be the cause of the creases that did
Not appear until a few weeks ago?

    Added Note -
The area that is bowed out is at the bottom
on the far right side of the garage door. The
new creases are about 3 feet from the left side
Of the door. About 8 feet away from the bowed
    lowere section.

If this is on the outside of your door, and you have your drive plowed, I will almost guarantee you that is what it's from. In fact, I'm replacing a 16'x7' today due to this exact cause, the plow driver was too lazy to get out and shovel the first foot from the garage door and hit the door with the plow trying to get close. I see it every year multiple times.
