The installer just finished installing a 10x7 door with the low rise rail kit for clearance but the top panel of the door has a visible gap where it
touches the panel below it.  Is this normal?  Everyone who sees it thinks the install was done wrong and I have to admit that the gap looks
out of place considering the rest of the panels meet flush.

I'm not sure what the pictures are to indicate. Everything looks correct in both pics.

If you look at the second image, you can see the flashing is really bent inwards on top to follow the tilt inwards of the top panel.
So you think it's normal to have the top panel of the door tilt so much inwards?  This is the first garage door I've had where it
is not straight and flush from top to bottom so it doesn't look like it's finished to me.  Neighbor picked up on it right away and so
did my wife that it looks unfinished because now there is a dark like because of the opening where the top panel meets the panel
under it whilst the other panels sit flush.

Not sure what to say if you can't see that the top panel is bent 1 inch inwards and throws off the appearance of the door.  2nd pic clearly shows the framed wall vertical and the top panel with the weather seal heavily bent inwards.  Had a look at many installed garage doors and about 80% are installed correctly and flush and around 20% all bent so it's obviously an installer issue.  Company with 5 star reviews who sold me the door and installed it says its perfect so I had to go online and see how to fix it myself which I did and now it looks spot on.  It was quite involved resetting the rails and panel connectors but as usual I had to fix a job done by a sloppy installer.
