    Garage door not opening Empty Garage door not opening

    My Genie Excelerator will not open or close. Last week it opened to leave the house but when I got home it wouldn't close. Won't open/close using either the keypad or wall switches. Checked the power to the unit - good. By the way i have a 2 car garage with the same openers. The other side has a broken cable i need to repair. "Each" unit has a separate light that will not turn on??? Checked the breaker - not tripped but reset it anyway. Checked the GCFI plugs in the loop - all working. Any ideas? Thanx

    I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your Genie Excelerator garage door opener. It's frustrating when your garage door won't open or close as expected. Given the situation you've described, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can consider:
    [list="border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; --tw-border-spacing-x:0; --tw-border-spacing-y:0; --tw-translate-x:0; --tw-translate-y:0; --tw-rotate:0; --tw-skew-x:0; --tw-skew-y:0; --tw-scale-x:1; --tw-scale-y:1; --tw-pan-x: ; --tw-pan-y: ; --tw-pinch-zoom: ; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness:proximity; --tw-gradient-from-position: ; --tw-gradient-via-position: ; --tw-gradient-to-position: ; --tw-ordinal: ; --tw-slashed-zero: ; --tw-numeric-figure: ; --tw-numeric-spacing: ; --tw-numeric-fraction: ; --tw-ring-inset: ; --tw-ring-offset-width:0px; --tw-ring-offset-color:#fff; --tw-ring-color:rgba(69,89,164,0.5); --tw-ring-offset-shadow:0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-shadow:0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow:0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow-colored:0 0 transparent; --tw-blur: ; --tw-brightness: ; --tw-contrast: ; --tw-grayscale: ; --tw-hue-rotate: ; --tw-invert: ; --tw-saturate: ; --tw-sepia: ; --tw-drop-shadow: ; --tw-backdrop-blur: ; --tw-backdrop-brightness: ; --tw-backdrop-contrast: ; --tw-backdrop-grayscale: ; --tw-backdrop-hue-rotate: ; --tw-backdrop-invert: ; --tw-backdrop-opacity: ; --tw-backdrop-saturate: ; --tw-backdrop-sepia: ; list-style: none; margin: 1.25em 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; counter-reset: list-number 0; display: flex; flex-direction: column;"][*]
    Safety Sensors: Check if there are safety sensors installed on the garage door tracks, typically near the bottom. Make sure they are aligned properly and free from any obstructions. Misaligned or blocked sensors can prevent the door from closing.

    [*]
    Remote Batteries: If you have a remote control for the garage door, replace the batteries to ensure it's sending signals correctly.

    [*]
    Manual Operation: Attempt to open or close the door manually to see if it moves freely. This can help determine if the issue is with the opener or the door itself.

    [*]
    Limit Switch Adjustment: Your Genie Excelerator may have limit switches that control the door's open and close positions. Check if these switches are correctly adjusted. If they are off, it can cause the door to stop prematurely.

    [*]
    Wiring and Connections: Inspect the wiring and connections from the wall switch, keypad, and the opener itself. Loose or damaged wiring can cause communication issues.
