    Hi - newbie here!

I'm having trouble with my garage door. It is using Wayne Dalton Torquemaster Plus spring system.

The LH side winding shaft is red, and the RH is gray. The cables on both sides have tension on them. The RH side winding shaft is moving freely by hand when I disengage the latch from the inside gear by pressing it down and I can freely move the winding shaft by hand.

The garage door is slow to open and doesn’t stay midway on manual and falls down. It is clear the tension is gone as it is no longer balanced.

I think the RH spring is broken from inside but I can't figure out how to release the cable tension on RH. I also checked the LH side winding shaft and I can turn the LH with ratchet to release the tension without any issues.

My question is how to release the cable tension on RH as the winding shaft is moving in both direction without doing anything?

I would really appreciate of any help.

    JD
