I just looked at the new springs which were installed on my overhead automatic garage door two weeks ago because it had stopped working (reversing before it was fully closed then going up and down repeatedly. It's working now, but I just looked at the springs and they are very rusty. Would new springs rust in just two weeks (even in winter?) or have I been scammed? I was charged more than $300 for two springs ($86 each) including installation ($100). The old springs were 8 years old so i was not surprised they needed replacement. Also, the door now runs noisier than before, and there is no indication that the tech even lubricated the system. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
