Window above garage door wall

Hi folks,

This is my issue. I have a half moon windows above my doors. Not on the doors, on the wall.

While installing the garage opener, the instructions state to measure 2 inches above the highest point of the door while traveling on the track for the wall header, well that happens to be right in the middle of the beautiful half moon window my wife decided to install!!!

My ceiling is 15 feet high so installing the header bracket on the ceiling is impossible.

I'm thinking I can install the wall header bracket right above the window and then use some metal to make the straight arm longer to be able to attach it to the door.

Thoughts?

This is usually why we leave it to the pros for things like this. Ive had people try for so long to put a garage door together in thier home just to give us a call after theyve already broken some of thier equipement. It happens but no worries maybe call a local garage company and see if they have any tips for you.

Isn't this what a forum is about? Ask a question and hope someone will answer? You take the time to reply I should call a company like yourself but you don't answer!

Anyone else have some ideas for me other than calling a garage door company?

You may want to consider selling the trolley opener you have and getting a wall mount operator like the Liftmaster 8500. You can see it here.
