R130-7 WILL NOT OPEN DURING COLD WEATHER

Like one of your other questioners, I have two Raynor R130-7 garage door openers that have worked great with little maintenance for 20 years. One will not open once the temp reaches the 30's. I replaced one pulley with bad bearing but that did not correct the problem. The chain and pulleys are well oiled. The door will open by holding down the wall switch or remote but it only inches along. Once open, it will not close with wall switch or remote. When the temp warms up, the door opens and closes well. I removed the cover, reset and fine tuned the limit switches that determine open and closing distance with no results. Any idea what is causing my problem?

Have you ever replaced the "V" belt? It could be worn and slipping because of the cold temps.

Belt is fine. I have observed it with cover removed.

I have determined it is a circuit board problem. When trying to close door in cold weather, a relay on circuit board clicks constantly and will not stay engaged when holding down opener button. I ordered replacement 24VDC/120VAC 12 amp replacement relays from DigiKey and installed them one at a time. No change but then I saw a resister on circuit board that looks burnt. All I have on my Raynor 130-7 cover is a diagram but no circuit board schematic. Does any one know where I can find the circuit board schematic? Raynor no longer supplies parts for this old opener so I cannot buy a new circuit board. I must repair the one I have.

I determined the control circuit board is bad and replaced clicking relays and large 80 ohm resister. Opener worked fine again until recently. I checked new resistor I soldered to board and it has 78 ohms which is good. I cannot find component that is now causing the problem so have resigned to replace the whole circuit board. WHERE CAN I FIND ONE? It i is part number 6080127 Rev 3. I would purchase any revision of that part number.

Raynor Manufacturing no longer offers control boards for the R130 series operator. It has been several years since they have been available. You might do a search of various Raynor distributors, someone may just have a board in their stock. You can locate dealers on the Raynor.com web site. Might be a needle in the haystack type hunt.
