New Opener......off center install? Empty New Opener......off center install?

    Post  tj4ndirish Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:52 am

Hi all, new here.  Need some help.  I had a pole barn built back in June and I want to install an opener.

My door is 12x10 high.  It is not insulated, so just the sheet metal.  The door is split into 3 sections 3'4' per section.

So, here's my problem, there is no support in the center to install the opener.  Can I choose one of the supports on the right or left to install the door?  It has torsion spring.

    Thanks!!

Yes you can. If you offset your motor to the right or the left, That is fine. A lot of doors have motors offset from the middle for various reasons. I wouldn’t recommend it with extension springs, however since you have torsion springs you will be okay.
