Raynor Navigator (1245RGD) has power, but will not open/close

Raynor Navigator (1245RGD) has power, but will not open/close.

Up until 2 days ago, my Raynor Navigator (model #1245RGD) was functioning perfectly.  Now when I press the wall control or remote transmitter, the unit makes a humming sound for a couple of seconds. The unit has power, the safety sensors are aligned and nothing is blocking them.

I’ve also tried disengaging the door with manual release and the carriage still does not move back and forth while disengaged.

Any thoughts or ideas on what the possible root cause could be?

Take the cover off of the operator & inspect the gear assembly. Most likely the gear is chewed up or broke. You can find a replacement gear assembly here. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately that did not resolve the issue - The gear assembly is still intact. Any other ideas?

Next, if you haven't already done so, unplug the unit for a minute then plug it back in - this resets the unit.

Also check the limit assembly & check to see if the limits are out of wack. Possibly could have traveled past the limits & jammed.

Check the logic board - lightning or a power surge could have damaged it. You can usually see smoke or burn marks on the board if it has been damaged. The RPM sensor could also be damaged from lightning or a surge.

After checking out all of the components, the issue was pretty simple. The "up" limit was off and carriage went back to far and was stuck under the bolt (as you stated).

Glad you got it working.  Keep an eye on the limits over the next couple of weeks. They can wear down over time & start skipping. If that happens the limit assembly can easily be replaced.
