Cant program new remotes to Crafstman

I have a Craftsman part # 41DB102-2 opener with the purple program button.  I bought 2 new remotes from Amazon GD-R11.  I go through the programming steps, Push purple button, yellow LED lights, push new remote and hold until the lights on the opener flash.  After that i can push the new remote, the yellow LED on the opener flashes as it receiving the signal but nothing happens.  I have one existing remote that works just fine along with a wireless KP and the button hardwired on the wall.

I got it working.  I forget the unit had a battery in it, so i unplugged it and pulled the battery for 10 seconds.  Upon power up i had to reset the down limit switch.  After that i programmed the buttons and they worked.  Even got the Homelink in the wife's new Pathfinder to work.
