genie chain drive rail moves Empty genie chain drive rail moves

I uploaded youtube video. Look at the rail near the door. It flexes down/up when the door 1st starts to open/close. When the door is down I grab the bar and try wiggle it, but i cant. Bolts feel tight. Is this movement expected?

this unit was not operated for over 10 years it just sat there and was never operated. The fuse popped and she did not know why it stopped working. I just replaced the fuse.

it was installed in 1985 by an auth genie installer.

You could adjust the length of the opener arm & the down travel limit so the arm doesn't push up on the rail so much when it closes.

The opener arm is made of two pieces - a curved part & a straight part. They both have holes in them and are connected together with two bolts w/ nuts. Remove the bolts/nuts, move the two pieces to where you want them (to either shorten or lengthen the arm assembly) and then reinstall the bolts/nuts. If you change the length you'll also then have to adjust the down travel limit of the operator (see operator manual on how to do this).

Down travel limit & close limit are the same. It tells the opener how far the trolley carriage should move in the down direction.
Close Force = how much force the opener uses to close the door
