My garage door cables recently fell off the spools that hold it on the spring bar. I wasn’t aware of this and when I tried to close it, the whole bar ripped out of the wall. My local garage door company came and fixed everything, but when he tried to set the limits it would only let him set the down limit. He instantly said I need a new opener. The limits are electronic. I wanted to troubleshoot this myself. I took off the belt and when I try to operate it, the motor turns for like 1 second and then turns off. Sometimes when I try to start it, I hear a slight clicking noise and nothing happens. I’m hoping maybe I blew the capacitor or maybe a board or something that is cheap to replace? Any advice helps, thanks.
