    Chain retracted Empty Chain retracted

    Post  Johnmr12 Sat Oct 09, 2021 10:34 am

I have a feeling this is a stupid question but I disengaged the door trolley from the chain and then I hit the button to raise the door. The chain retracted past where the up limit switch would have stopped it. So now the chain is too far retracted for me to engage the door with the chain. How do I pull the chain out,,? I tried closing the limit up switch and hitting the button to fool it into thinking the door was up but nothing happens. When I leave the switch open and hit the button the motor makes a noise and stops and the chain doesn't move. It sounds like it's retracting but since it's fully retracted it just stops. This is a genie Promax that was installed in 1999.
